OTAGO SHOW.

DUNEDIN, Nov. 24. The, Otago Agricultural and r Pastoral Show was opened to-day in /'showery weather. The entries total 863, as against 889 last year. The decrease is mainly due to the fact that no pigs are forward. A very high standard has been attained and competition is keen in most classes.
Tho following championships were awarded : — ■ Draught/ mare—Thomson and Co., Wairongon.' Jersey bull and cow—F. E. Hellyer,, North-East Harbour.
Shorthorns, bull —D. Murray, Clydevale; cow—D. G. Wright, Stirling. Ayrshires, bull —A. Gillies. Hampden; cow —Cowan Bros., Enfield. Holsteins, bull—D. McDonald, Balfour; cow —F. E. Hellyer. Fat cattle —R. Shennan, Berwick.
Border Leicester, sheep, ram and ewe —T. S. Little, Windsor; Lincolns, ram and ewe —New Zealand and Australian Land Co., Moeraki.
Romney Marsh, mm and ewe —Tnisaeps late T. L. Rnrnhill, Lumsden.'
Shropshire Down rani —D Windsor.
