Bailey, of London, in a letter •dated August 19,' says: —"Since my b.ist letter, we have had a visit from the much-vaunted Zeppelins. One actually' flow directly over this quarter of the city, but, I am thankful to relate, that none of their bombs dropped Qearbr than n mile from our location. There is no denying the fact that they did awful damage where they did strike, and we plainly saw the reflections of the explosions playing on the tiky as thfi .bombs were dropped.. The Zeppelins sailed over the City at about LI p.m., and, of course, caught everything going on as usual. The theatres, trams, etc., wort)-packed with people, rvnd it is a miracle that not more' wrc 'Killed.
