TIMARU v. ASKBURTON HIGH SCHOOL.

On Saturday the Ashburton High School team met the First XI. of Timaru Boys' High School and suffered defeat by 120 runs. Ashburton batted first but, against the bowling of N. Thomas, Fahoy, and McDevald, could put on only 40 runs. I. Miller (15) and Bonnington (11) wore the chief run-getters. Timaru responded with 160, made chiefly, by B. Thomas (70), Irwin (23), Crawford (15), and Robertson (In). The Ashburton'bowlers were I. Miller, B. Miller, and L. Elliott.
