To this end it was concluded that by,encouraging the organisation of breeders' clubs and by enabling such clubs to procure the services of good breeding stallions under favourable financial considerations the desired assistance could best bo provided. The clubs are required to guarantee the stallion owner a definite miinber of mare's' at a certain service fee, not to be-less ■'than 12 dollars (£2 10s),i - The stallion named by a club must-be submitted to examination by an.authorised veterinary, surgeon. : All ,service fees must be oollected by the chib, and are payable one-third at the end of the season, a,nd 'tho remaining two-thirds when, and only if, the mare proves' to be in J'oaJk The Governmenf :pays fcho club' a sum.equal.to 25. per cent, of the total amount .paii at "the; close of the service: station, apd: a ,;'further 25 petcent, of the second payment-■'■for mares that prove in> ionl when these payments are,.concluded, by.the;chab:-&The Government''goes even" farther in'tegard to 1 iJioroughbred stallions. Tho stallion must be a good specimen and typical of his ; •breed, possess correct* conformation. and true, straight action.
