Alexandretta. Making the Suez CanaJ the starting .point would be to repeai the mistake made at Gallipoli in attacking the southern end of the penineula. Of the considerable British reinforcements in -Egypt many could be {borrowed from Salonika without endangering the Suez Canal, and could be used in Serbia, thereby giving a better guarantee to the British possessions, becausp thY:- enemies which may threaten them are* in Serbia, where they must be beat-ou in order to bar the road eastward.
