REJECTIONS AT TRENTHAM.
STATEMENT BY SURGEON-GEN-
ERAL HENDERSON
WELLINGTON, November 20. In a statement to a "Post" representative to-day regarding the rejection of men at Trentham previously passed as fit, Surgeon-General Henderson explained that this was largely due to the following causes :—Men impersonating others passed as fit, the development! of illnesses after, the preliminary district examination, men.'previously rejected from camp concealing.their defects and being passed again into camp,, and also to inexperience of some doctors as to the requirements for" recruits. I Surgeon-General -Henderson pointed out that the percentage of rejects in such cases was very small, only amounting to little more than 1 per cent. Steps had been taken to reduce even this ns far as- possible by informing the examiners that they must strictly adhere to the regulations, and also by preventing impersonation;
