MEETING

ASKBURTON CATHOLIC CLUB

The weekly meeting of the Ashburton Catholic Club was held last evening, when Mr E. McSherry presided over a good attendance. The pfogramrao took the form oi: a mock borough council election.. Twelve candidates offered themselves, and expressed their views on municipal matters., and at the close of each address answered questions, which created a great deal of discussion. A feature of the evening was the vast improvement in the speeches of the junior members, who took a very (active part in the discussion.
