TINWALD UNITED BAND OF HOPE

The Tinwald United Band of Hope hold its final meeting for the season last Thursday evening, when the Rev. W. J. Osbrow and Mr J. M. liiu,

presided over a large audience. The programme, wliicb was a lengthy one, was contributed by the following: —Pianoforte duet, Mrs and Miss Taylor; pianoforte solos, Miss Taylor and Mr A. Taylor; vocal duets. Misses Bell and F. and 1. Chapman, and Messrs Jeary and x Fenton; vocal solos, Mrs JS. G. Craighoad and Misses F. Chap-1 man, J. Chapman, Wills, and Messrs E. G. Craighead and S. Fenton; recitations, Misses KeiT, Stevens, Olive Johns, and Mr Rands; reading, Mr Blackwood. . The Church of Christ Choir rondered two anthems during the evening. Two dialogues were given— one by some Ashburton friends and the other by Flemington and Tinwald friends. Mrs Craighead, Misses Gudsell, Chapman, and Schneider played the accompaniments. ' About two dozen membership pledge cards were distributed, whilst a number of pledges were taken after the meeting. " A vory hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the performers on behalf of the committee by the Roy. Mr Oxbrow, and was carried by acclamation. The programme concluded by singing a verse of the National Anthem. Refreshments were then handed round, and thus a very pleasant and successful evening and season was brought to a close.
