' The- managers of theatres liavo not discussed tiie abandoning of evening performances, and are submitting daily matinees except at the Royalty Theatre. All have decided to continue evening performsmccs for the present. The discontinuance of the evening Horyicos in St. Paul's Cathedral, owing fco the light from the 24 windows m the dome, is" causing the clergy to discuss the possibility of discontinuing theevening services in other churches. Ihc police, patrol every street in the metropolis to sec if the lighting regulations are obeyed.. One householder today was fined £25 for failing to reduce liis lights, and another £10 for not screening ' the lights in his servant's room.
