STRIKES AND ARBITRATION COURTS: (Received October 15; 8.40 .a.m.) SYDNEY, October 15. • At the annual meeting of tho Employers' Federation the president, reviewing the v war, said the employers' desire was to remain absolutely quiescent, devoting their energies to the problems arising put of the «traggie and assisting in its prosecution to a successful issue. It appeared indefensible that 1 a section of the industrial eoaamunity should deliberately set itself to minimise tho productive capacity of labour and machinery i and so fcring the output of many important industries down 20 to 50 per cent. He submitted figures show-ing thai since the arbitration system vras enacted in 3912 there had been 727,720 days lost owing to strikes, involving a 'Joss of wages amounting to £363,326.. •
