ST. STEPHEN'S' CHURCH EFFORT

A fancy fair and sale of -work- was opened in the St. Stephen's Schoolroom this afternoon, having for its object the augmenting of the church's general fund and also the fund for wiping off the debt on the Kindergarten School building and' equipment. ; A great deal of preparatory work had been done by the various workers: connected with the church, and their efforts, as reflected by the stalls set out and arranged in the schoolroom, resulted in a particularly gratifying success. The stalls peculiar to such; functions were very liberally laden with goods of one kind or another calculated' to appeal to the tastes, aesthetic or otherwise, of most people. The fair was opened at 2.30 o'clock this.afternoon by •■'Mrs T. Bullock, in the ab--. senco of her husband. She expressed; the hppe that the salewould be a' profitable one, and that visitors would 1 purchase freely, for the good object in~ view, and then, declared the fair open-, for business. . This afternoon there was a fairlygood attendance, and the workers were very assiduous in disposing of their." .wares.
