It is claimed for the' Tasman district which is the most extensively planted apple settlement in the Dominion, that no other part of the world possesses the combination of soil and climatic conditions for apple culture in so perfect a degree. An important feature of the Tasman Fruit Colony is the highly successful co-operative scheme under which orchards may be planted and maintained to the bearing stage, thus enabling the professional or commercial man to pursue his ordinary vocation while a competency is being built up and a. future home prepared.
