IMPORTED TROTTERS.

WELLINGTON, August 12. By the Marama, which reached Wellington to-day from San Francisco, there arrived three trotting horses, which were- recently purchased in America by Mr F. Holmes, the Canterbury owner and trainer. Tho importations comprise the six-year-old stallion Logan Pointer, bred by Mr J. Ello Montgomery, of Davis, California; the yearling filly Trixie Pointer, and the two-year-old filly Bonilene, both bred by Mr J. H. Marshall, of Dixon, California. The- stallion, who has not yet raced, is by k Star Pointer from Effie Logan, dam of Jim Logan (2.1g;) and Loch Logan (2.7£), Dan Logan (2.7J)/ and four others in the 2.10 list,, Effie Logan is by Durfee from Ripple, by j Prompter from Grace, by Bucaneer. The 'filly Trixie Pointer is by Dcmonia (sire of* Mona Wilkes (2.3£, Airlie Demonia 2.6^, Deneroo 2.6J, Potero Boy 2.8 i, and 12 other standard performers), from Bally Pointer, by Star Pointer, 1.59 i, from Trix Marshall, by Nutwood' Wilkes from Trixy, by Director. Bonilene is a bay filly by The Bondsman (sire of Colorado "2.43, Colonel Frahklin 2.6£, Lizzie Brown 2.7-J, and The Plunger 2.7-J), from Madeline Marshall by Demonio, from Mamie Comet, by Natwood from Black Betty, by Sportsman.
