(Received August 4, 8.40 a.m.) AMSTERDAM, August 3. A German deserter stated that the Belgian village of Battice was razed because it was alleged that francstireurs . (light infantrymen) killed a captain. The facts were that a German private shot the Captain from a window, out of revenge.
