A Unique Experience.—A wellknown farmer in this district had a rather unique • experience recently whilst fordins: Deep Creek, on the road to 'Stronscnihio Station. The • creek was deeper than usual, and but for the fact that his car was a Ford, tho practically waterproof car, he would certainly not liavo attempted tho journey. Ho says: "I stopped up the main oilhole or breather pipe in tho engine, tied a tout over the radiator, and put her at it. She fairly swam through, but came out all right. The water was over tho bonnet and wings, and I had to be pretty quick to rescue some parcels in the car from getting spoilt with water. In my opinion there Ls no car like tho Ford." 0 0 1

Then one farmer arose, and; fixing the meeting with his eye, spoke somewhat as follows: —-"Leave the business men.alone ! Everybody* gets at them, arid ..they are always being asked for money.
