Figures were published recently by I the Commonwealth Statistician, estimating the increase in the cost of •■ living in the six capital towns of Ausi tralia as illustrated by retail prices; in 1 the June quarter of 1915, compared , with those in the June quarter of 1914. I A statement has been prepared, -under I instructions from the Prime Minister, j giving the corresponding figures for the j four chief centres of New Zealand, j compiled on the same principles and i from similar data.
