VIGOROUS ACTION AT SEVERAL POINTS.
PETROGRAD, August 1
An official communique says:—"The enemy made barren attacks at Banskj between the Rwina and the Niomcn.
"A fiery Russian bayonet charge west of Kovo on Thursday dislodged the enemy from several positions captured in the morning.
"Weak enemy forces continued their efforts to cross to the left bank of the Narew. To the east of Rozan we maintained our old front.
"We yesterday repulsed a German attack north-west of Blonie (west of Warsaw) and vigorously attacked troops who crossed the Vistula on the MagrnezeffJ£ozience front. In the sector below the mouth of the Radomka we dislodged the enemy from the forests on the right bank and drove him to islands and sand-banks in the Vistula. The enemy is holding his ground on the Upper Vistula near Matzewitze. ,
" Our troops on Thursday night, between the Vistula and the Bug, were ordered to march to positions prepared in the rear. The enemy did not molest ouKoccupation of the new front, where we established ourselves on Friday. Without fighting, we evacuated Lublin and the railway between the stations of Nova Alesandrija and Neiovetz. : " Our troops have continued- to dislodge the enemy from positions at SokaL Prisoners state that the enemy has suffered severe losses here during the last few days."
