GERMAN STRENGTH IN THE WEST.

LONDON, July 31. The "Daily Chronicle's" Dunkirk correspondent says there is good reason to believo that the Germans on the Western front are far fewer in number than they profess to be. While it is true that 150,000 men reinforced the line from Arras to Ypfes, thdse really replaced -withdrawn unite. Probably the only portion of the centre strengthened is the Ci'own, Prince's Army, which seems to have received between 200,000 and 250,000 reinforcements. Probably the Germans holding the Western line do not exceed 1,500,000. Of ,2.500,000 reserves at the Germans' disposal in June, two-thirds were sent to the East, and 1,000,000 to 1,200,000 remain un-' der arms for operations in' October, but are not of much value.
