WHEAT ACQUISITION.

The Commodities Commission is considering Crown evidence concerning additional claims for- compensation under the Wheat Act.
Tho Secretary of the Acquisition Board -stated that during the' lastmonth the Government had a tremendous rush of wheat. Farmers apparently had conclude:! that the price of wheat probably would be less than: it was'last year. . The.board had acctnmilated a surplus of £10,000 out of the administrative charge of id a bushel, which was'the result of careful .management and carrying nut the work in an up-to-date manner. He believed' that the farirvprs were still holding deliberately and- hiding quantities of wheat sufficient to affect importations-.
