AN UNSUCCESSFUL AUSTRIAN ATTACK.
. ROME, July 29. An official statement says:— ' 'In tho Carnia region the enemy, under cover of fog, unsuccesfully attempted to attack our, positions in the. Delcaco Pass. ■ • "Our Alpini attacked trenches m the front of positions at Palpiecolo, and carried the greater part of them. c •■ "Further notable progress w.as made on the Carso plateau, where strongly held trenches were captured.. We captured 120 officers on the 26th.
