Inquiries regarding tbe.Martin Street tragedy, in which Harry Parslow fatally shot himself after firing a shot at Ernest AViUiam Collingwood, go to show that the ail'air was chiefly due to drink. Mrs Parslow states that on account of dor husband's drinking habits she had Iseen living apart from him for about six months, but they had lived toge■tJier again for the past week or two, <luring which time he continued to drink.; -The r&vblve'r' was an' old one which -.she' had originally purchased for Itor own protection..: Collingwood used to take a room from her during tlio time he was on leave from Sonies Island, and yesterday afternoon he and her husband and daughter were talkijig together for a considerable time. Her husband was under the influence of liquor and . appeared angry. Suddenly he pulled the pistol out of his pocket, (ired at C'nllingwobd, who had a re-markably-narrow escape.
