GERMANS REPULSED.
MESSAGE FROM THE MINISTER OF WAR.
■•-■•■■■■ NEW YORK, July 24. ' : The "New; York World" publishes a|: telegram dated the 22nd from General Polivanoff, Russian Minister for War, in which he' states that the Germans made 10 attacks on the- 17th and 18th on tho Wilkolaz, striving to break the Russian line and reach .Lublin. They were repulsed with enormous losses. The Germans are making similar attacks with reinforcements on the Krasnastav-Izdebno front. The battle is extremely violent, and continues to develop. The German attacks have been fruitless. The most notable Rus? sian success was achieved by counterattacks, which captured all positions which the enemy occupied last week. Russian troops'on the right flank of this great battle are backed by the Ivangorod forts,, while, the left is engaging the enemy near Sokal. .The Russians captured 7000 men in the Bukowina.
