CORIZIA DOOMED.

PREPARATIONS FOR EVACUATION

LONDON, July 25

The "Morning Post's" Budapest correspondent states that the general opinion is that Gorizia is doomed. Violent engagements have lasted ki weeks. The fiercest engagement was at the bridge-head, where every form of weapon was used. Tho troops engaged were'brought from tin Carpathians, owing to their experience of defensive warfare. Both sides lost, heavily, especially the Aiistrians. An order has been issued that Gorizia must be defended to the last.

It is understood at Budapest that all preparations have been made for the town to be evacuated, the authorities desiring to prevent damage.
