RED CROSS SOCIETY
THE WINCHMORE BRANCH,
A meeting of 'the! WinchmoreV,branch of .the A>shbu'rtqn .Red . Cross Society, was held in tho Winehmore Hall on Thursday, "Juno 24. There was a full meeting of ladies.
It was unanimously agreed to wo?;k upon material supplied and cut out, by the Ashburton Society, and at the same time get together garments for" the Belgians or soldiers' children, a case to be despatched when full. Mrs B. Newton offered to provide the case. Mrs Mooro consented to overlook all knitting to see that everything is well knitted and suitable for wear.
The. amount collected from donations and membership fees was £8 16s, which iias been paid over to the Ashburton treasurer. ■ The ■ society will meet on tho last Thursday in each month.
On Thursday, July 1, a concert is to he held in aid" of the Red Cross Funds, when there -will bo a gift auction aad cake guessing competition, etc.
