ASHBURTON YARDS—THIS DAY
There was a very small yarding at the weekly stock sale held at the Ashburton Yards to-day..-\The attendance was poor. . The yarding of fat. sheep totalled; 213, as" against 452 last, week at. the Tinwald '.Yards. It included 150 ewes, 24 wethers, and 39 lambs. The quality, was very indifferent, there being not areally prime line of butchers' ewes in. Of the yarding, 62 were passed in «fc auction. En« made up to 16s Id, wethers to 22s Id. and lambs to 15s Id. There were only two lines yarded in; tho store pens. A line of sound and' failing-mouth half bred and ' threequarterbred ewes in lamb was passed in at 14s 6d, and a line of 239 twotooth haifbred owes in lamb sold at 14s 4d. Of the small yarding of cattle, a fat cow made £B,' and a lieifer (in full profit) £7. The fat sheep sold as follows: — Ewes: 13 three-t|uarterbreds at 16s, 13 halfbreds at 13s 4d. 12 merinos at Us lOd. 13'croBsbreds at I3s 3d, 7 halfbreds ,at. Us. 16 halfbreds at 16s Id, 14 three-cjua-rterbreds sit 16s. 'Wethers: 11 four-tooth c-rossbreds at 22s Id. 13 three-.inarterbre'ls at 16;>! Lambs: 33 lambs at 15s Id. :
