ROME, May 29. \ It is officially stated that the batteries on the Port Corsini Canal seriously damaged the Austria.ii torpedoboat TBO, the destroyer Schari'sclmtze. and the scout-cruiser Novara, causing numerous casualties on board.
'Hie scout Helgoland aad the Csop'A, and three other destroyers attacked the Italian destroyer Titrbino, which was hit in the boiler;-!. Tire Turbine fought for an hour, despite a fire on board, and when hi- ir ammunition was exhausted her crow opened- the seacocks and sank her. Thirty-six of the crow were rescued by an Italian squadron, which came up and seriously 'damaged the Helgoland and the CsepeL ; Two Italian- torpedo-boats engaged an Austrian torpedo-boat and two submarines. One submarine wasreuout^dJy struck. She emitted 'rlonso cloud;: of smoke :irid then sank. • Art Italian dirhribh- dropped bombs and hit several destroyers-at Sobsnico.
