6000' RECRUITS WANTED
WITHIN THE.' NEXT ;SIX WEEKS
WELLINGTON, April 24
The Hon. James Allen states that the new artillery units accepted by the Imperial authorities are already undergoing training at Trentham. The .whole of the non-commissioned officers and most of the officers re~ quired for the new infantry battalions will be brought into camp next Wednesday, and fche officers and non-com-missioned officers will be put through a thorough course of preliminary training, after which the men will be brought into camp to undergo four months' training.
Intending recruits are registering in satisfactory numbers, said the Minister, but in -view.-of the increased offer by the New Zealand Government, it will bo necessary, to find 600.") additional recruits within the next six weeks. After June, other drafts would he called up, and the more names registered the better.
