STATEMENT BY DEFENCE MINISTER.
(Received March 24, 9.50 a.m.) MELBOURNE, .April 24. Mr Pearce (Defence Minister), interviewed respecting the allegations of looting at Rabaul, emphatically declared it to be untrue that the officers alleged to be involved were being tried by officers also said to be concerned in the New Guinea affair.
