FEDERAL CAPITAL SITE.
SLOW PROGRESS BEING MADE
(Received January 27, 10.10 a.m.)
MELBOURNE, January 27. Evidence was given before the Public "Works- Committee that the Federal capital site at Canberra is not progressing at tlie estimated speed. Whereas it was calculated that' there would be 2000 or 3000 men employed, at-present there are only 400. _ The public are showing little interest in its progress, and are not evincing a desire to acquire building sites.
