| AN AMERICAN QUERY. (Received December 16, 8:35 a.m.) NEW YORK, December 15. Apropos of Herr Ahlers (late German Consul at Sunderland, who has been sentenced to death for treason), American jurists are discussing the international aspect of, the German citizenship law enacted in 1914, enabling Germans acquiring foreign citizenship to retain their German citizenship if they obtained permission; it also enables foreign citizens of German blood to obtain German citizenship while they remain abroad.
