SHIPPING CASUALTIES
. : ♦ THE MANGAPAPA WRECK. FORCED TO BE ABANDONED. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, October 12. The following telegram was; received by the Chief Postmaster at Wellington this evening from the postmaster at Karamea:—"The Mangapapa, which. went ashore on the North Spit, had to be hurriedly abandoned at high water, 2 p.m... The engine room ; is flooded,' but the" crew are safe. The vessel is likely to become a."total'-'wrocl;."
