. (Per Press Association.? TIMARU, May 29. As is usual at this time of the year, business on the local grain .market ia somewhat quiet. A fair number of samples. of wheat have been on offer during the week, but millers have filled their immediate requirements and are not keen buyers, while speculators are a little shy oil account of the -prices, that are being asked. Prime Velvet is ! quoted at 4s to 4s Id, Red Chaff at 3s lid to 3s Hid, and good Tuscan at 3s lOd to 3s IOJ-d, delivered. Timaru. j Only a few sales have been recorded during the week. Fowl .wheat, is sell-j ing at up to 3s lid f.o.b. The oat market is very dull, and it is impossible to give reliable quotations. Oatsheaf chaff is not much in demand, and to-day's quotation is £2 5s on trucks, couvitrv stations. , The potato market is in a rather curious state. There- are plenty of potatoes offering at present, and this has brought down the price to £3 ss, or £3 10-. on trucks, at country stations, sucks extra.
