MR H.M.G. MACFARLANE.
REEFTON, May 28. The death is announced of Mr H. M. G. Macfarlane, clerk of. the Magistrate's Court,_ who died last night after an operation for appendicitis. Death occurred after a short illness. Mr Macfarlane was 28 years of age, and was highly respected. He had only been at Iloeftou six months.
(Tho laU* Mr Macfarlane was well known in Chrisfcchurch, and for six or seven years .was one of the most popular officers in the local Magistrate's Court. He was also a. proiimient cricketer and genuine "good fellow.". Two years ago he was transferred to Riverton. Death was due to peritonitis,-.■following.on,an operation i'or appendicitis). .'
