BRITISH AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP. Defeat of Gillies. (Par' Press Association—Copyright). LONDON., May 22. In the third round, Gillies had an easy victory over Weaver. He gave a superb display, Weaver being 7 down at the turn. Gillies did 5 holes in fours and 4 holes in threes. He could have don© the sixth hole in two, but feared a stymie. At the eighth hole he hit the back of the pin with his first putt. Against Gillies, Graham tcrned one up, Gillies was level at the tenth, but was two down at the 16th. In the ante-ponultimate round Humphries beat Phillips, 2 up and 1 to play ; Martin Smith boat Graham, 3 up and 2 to play; Ilczlet boat Kolesar, 1 up; Jenkins beat Hunter, 2 up and one to play. Semi-Finals. Hezlet beat Humphries, 1 up; Jenkins beat Martin Smith, 2 up and 1 to play.
