MR ASQUJTH'S ASSURANCE.

'A deputation of Liberal members of the House of Commons, headed by Mr P. A.. Moltono, urged the Premier to refuse an increase of armaments. Mr Asquith replied that the forthcoming large increase in the Estimates was an automatic one., which the Souse of Commons r had already sanctioned. He denied any other committments. - The deputation expressed its satisfaction.
