Mr Austen Chamberlain, referring, at the Tariff Reform Conference, to Home Rule rumours (arising out of thej fact that he had dined with Mr Lloyd I George), said he,was in. the habit of | dining with half the Cabinet, but not of carrying 'on private negotiations. j If Mr Asquith wanted a settlement he should address Mr Bonar Law.
