The New Zealand cricketers begaui the second match of the tour, against Northern Districts, at Glen Innes, giving another fine display, though the ground was rough. Boxshall, Robinson, and Taylor were omitted from the New .Zealand .team. The home players batted first, and were disposed of for 86, Carlton proving deadly, his average being five wickets for 21 runs. Sandman ably .seconded him, securing three for 31. Bennett took one wicket for 12 runs, and Reese one for 1, extras totalling 2i. ; New Zealand, when stumps were drawn, ,had lost seven wickets for 212. The scores wore as follow : — New Zeqland.
