The aee-for-ail race for the New Brighton Trotting Cup aroused a great deal of interest. In spite' of the wet weather there was a very good attendance, and the totalisator investments showed an increase. The total for the day was £18,610, as against £15,274 on the corresponding day last year, the total for the meeting being £33,674 10s, as compared with £26,863 10s. The-following are the details of the racing: — Ladies' Bracelet Handicap (in harness), of 45 soys; one mile— F. E. Bells 1, Black Arrow 2, Winnie Peg 3. Won by half a length. Time, 2min 34 l-ssec. Brighton Handicap (in saddle), of 85 | soys; two miles —Rothbury 1, Fiction 2, King V. 3. Won by three lengths. Time, smin 6sec. New Brighton Trotting Club Cup (in harness), of 350 soys; two miles—Denver Huon 1, Albert H. 2, Emmeline 3. In the run home Denver Huon had matters all his own way, and won very easily by 40 yards. Albert H. was two lengths in front of Emmeline, with Lovelock a long way back. Time, 4min 36 3-osec. '
Summer Handicap (optional), of .125 soys; three miles—liuon Drift 1, Foxhill 2, Frandocia 3. Won by two lengths. Time, 7min 30 2-ssec. Final Handicap (in saddle), of 100 eovs; one mile—Royal Vesta 1, Vermont 2, Almond 3. Won by three lengths. Time, 2min 25 3-ssec.
