STRIKER'S BAD LANGUAGE.
SENTENCED TO THREE MONTHS
DUNEDIN, December 16*. 12.30' p.m. William John Newman, a striker, pleaded, guilty, at. the Police. Court, to - using obscene language and striking William Miller, an Arbitrationist, on one of the city tramcars. A large, number of previous convictions were proved against Newman, who* was sentenced to three months' imprisonment and bound over, on his own recognisance of £50, and two ■ sureties of £25 each, to ■ keep the peaoe for six months.
