LINERS BEING WORKED.
AN IMPORTANT CONFERENCE.
STRIKERS BECOMING IMPATIENT.
WELLINGTON, December 16. , 12.40 p.m..
Despite the heavy rain, cargo work was briskly carried on to-day. Out of 28 vessels in the harbour, 22 are .working, including the big liners Ruahine, Zealandic, Corinthic, and Remuera.
One thousand and twenty men are engaged, and the wet weather had the effect of creating a shortage of labour., The seamen's, delegates' and the shipowners will confer again to-night, no finality having been arrived at last evening. Some of the labour union officials and the strikers appear to be getting impatient at the delay of the Federation's Conference in coming to a decision.
