THE WEATHER

To-day broke fine, but was cloudy and cool, and at noon a gentle rain began to fall, increasing in force as the afteroon wore on; It .greatly interfered with sports and picnic parties. The Dominion Meteorologist telegraphed as follows to-day:—The indications are for easterly, winds, moderate to strong, and- backing by east to south, then freshening. Heavy rain probable, and snow on-high country; rivers rising. Barometer falling, but rising after about 24 hours.
