A NIGHT OUT ON MT. PEEL.
'Mr C. M. Jjiirdon, of Woodbury, accompanied by his son and a lady, and 'gentleman, started out on Tuesday to climb Mount Peel., and as they failed |to return the &aiue day iheir friends became anxious about them, and -a .search party was sent out on Wednesday to try and hud them. It was expected that they had been caught in 1 the fogi -The relief party, after a long search, eventually found the wanderers at 6.30 p.m. j;t a hut some considerable distance off the track, it appears that they had been caught in tho fog while on the mountain, and in attemping to get back wandered in the wrong direction, and eventually discovered a hut, where they slaved all night. In the morning they set out for home, but were again unfortunate in losing their way, and eventually got back to the same hut again, where they wore found by the search party. Notwithstanding the hardships and privation they were little the worse for their very unpleasant adventure.—"Temuka Leader."
