! Three weeks' extension of time was ; granted to the Defence Committee in | which to bring down its report. Local Elections. j The Hon. F. H.-D. Bell moved the third reading of the ■ Local Elections and Polls Act Amendment Bill. Ho believed that in its present form the Bill would be welcomed by local authorities throughout the Dominion. 1 The Hon. J. T. Paul warmly com--1 mended tho Bill as a means of purifying the conduct of local elections. The Bill was read a third time, and passed. | The Council adjourned "at 2.45 p.m. till Thursday.
