A jeweller's traveller left in the KaJI of tlie Commercial Hotel at Kendall two boxes containing 1000 brooches, 500----watch-bracelets, etc., worth £10,000. When the. boxes were opened on thefollowing day , they contained " only coal and pape*\ - A-visitor to the hotel is suspected. He arrived- on the same day as the traveller, with two heavy baskets.
