LANp AND GENERAL. AVOID DAGCiNG by using JOSEPH FORD'S DRENCH. Copy of Circular Letter issued in Canterbury : Re DACCING. The Freezing Companies regret having to draw attention to the condition in which many lines of sheep and lambs are sent to Saleyards and Freezing Works, owing to the growers having neglected to' have same properly dagged or crutched. This matter is a serious one, as it not only affects the animal in" a live state, but also prevents- the carcases from being dressed with the finish aiid cleanliness which are an absolute necessity for placing them on" the Home Market to the best advantage. In spite of every care, stain® are bound to disfigure such carcases,- and no amount of wiping down will remedy this condition, as they cannot avoid, in many cases, injuring the pelts, and so incurring fines. ' In view of the reasonable rempniStrances of the slaughtermen against 'being compelled to kill daggy sheep and lambs, and also of the considerable discredit and monetary loss occasioned by the necessarily imperfect dressing of such carcases, WE hereby give notice on behalf of the Canterbury Frozen Meat Company, Limited, and tho Christchurch Meat Company, Limited, that any such sheep will be drafted at the works and rejected 1. JOSEPH FORD'S DRENCH. Read what two generations of Farmers say who have used it:— " D can certify to the truth of your statements with'regard to the power of JOSEPH FORD'S SCOUR AND LUNG WORM MIXTURE for curing lung worm. I dosed 140 hoggets which I had-left, and did'not lose one after. I also bought 50 (for experimental' purposes), the-most miserable specimens of lambs I ever saw. I lost two, and two collapsed about a month after in the storm;: The rest thrived well. I can recommend the Mixture to anyone who has any trouble with their lambs." ■■■";■ (Signed) JONATHAN SOWDEN. FERRIMAN, Ashburton, Dear Sir, —In March last I drenched about 5000 lambs which were dying of Lung Worm, and I found the lambs improved wonderfully, and I did not lose any after drenching. . In last August I bought 100 ewe hoggets which were very low in condition, and they were very bad with Lung Worm. I (|ronched: them one dose, and it stopped: all coughing, and they are doing splendidly. I have carried lambs home expecting them to die. and have given them a dose of Lung Worm Mixture • for experiment, and they have been walking about in the morning. I have great faith in Ford's Mixture, and recommend it to all sheep-1 breeders. Yours faithfully, (Spd.) JOHN SOWDEN, Junr.
