His -i Worship: you can get ran in for drinking too "much, but you can't help to keep your wife. . The Husband: Well, I only earned 5s 8d a week, and she has had her 28s a week regular. ■. '.< His Worship (to the woman): Where do you get the 28s from ? The Wife: I earn it working at a laundry. ■ His Worship (to husband): You are a beautiful specimen of humanity, you are. You earn 5s 8d a week, and your poor wife has to go to a laundry and earn £1 Bs. You say you are not going to pay this money ? The Husband: I can't.
His Worship: .Well, you won't lrave a chance .to get' any more drink for— two weeks.
