MR ROOSEVELT CONTENT
\7ARNING FROM MR TAFT
NEW YORK, November 6
Dr. Wilson, replying to congratulations, said that the great cause had triumphed. Every Democrat and tru© Progressive, of whatever alliance, must now lend his full force and enthusiasm for the fulfilment of the people's hope, namely, the establishment of the people's rights, so justice and progress might go hand in hand.
Mr Roosevelt accepted the result with entire good humour and contentment. ' As for the Progressive cause, the fate'of,the leader was of little consequence, but the cause itself' must ultimately triumph, for its triumph was essential to the well-being of the people.
■Mr Taft said that the vote for Mr Roosevelt and the Socialist candidate was a warning that their propaganda, favouring fundamental changes in representative government, has formidable support. Mr Taft appeals to the young men of the country to rally to the defence of the constitution now threatened.
