Count Berchtold, addressing the Foreign Affairs Committee, said that the present aspiration of the Allies was incompatible with the principle of the integrity.'of Turkey,.but Austria,had no tendency towards territorial expansion and was prepared to make large allowances for the new situation created by the Allies' victories and lay the foundation of a lasting friendly understanding.
