LISBON, December 23. The mutineers at Braga resented the discipline imposed and entrenched their barracks. They were eventually overawed and sent to Oporto. The Minister of War, speaking in the Chamber, suggested that the insubordination was the result of the anti-Republican atmosphere of the district. He intended to repeal the lenient clauses of the Military Code, and declared that an. army without discipline was merely a mob, and there was great danger in its use.
