CANTERBURY FROZEN MEAT COMPANY.
The annual meeting of tho ■Canterbury Frozen Meat Company was held for Tuesday, Sir George Clifford, (Chairman of Directors), presiding. The directors' report stated that the ' net profit for the year was £21,832 17s Id, which, with the amount brought forward from last year, made the amount at credit of profit and loss account, £23,810 19s Bd. Out of this, £3000 had been added to general seserve fund, increasing it to £43,000; £1000 had also been added to the insurance reserve fund, bringing the same up to £9000, and the sum of 1 £4500 had been written off the works. After apportioning these amounts, and deducting the dividend paid at the , half-year, there remained a sum of £8711 17s Bd, which the directors proposed should be dealt with as ■follows: —To payment of a further dividend of | 3 per cent, on the preference, and 4 ! per cent, on the ordinary shares, making a total dividend for the year of 6 per cent, and 8 per cent, respectively, £6599 2s; to carry forward £2112 15s 8d; total £8711 17s Bd. The quantities of stock dealt with at the Company's works were:—-At Belfast, 507,687; Fairfield, 331,930; Pareoraj 322,173; total 1,161,790, being a de^ crease of 24,377 head on the previous year's figures. Messrs Geo. Humphreys and It. Heaton Rhodes were re-elected directors, and Mr W. H. E. Wanklyn was re-elected auditor. At a meeting of directors held subsequent to the general meeting, Sir George Clifford was re-elected chairman.
